Where Microsoft AutoUpdate keeps its logs

Microsoft AutoUpdate logs to /Library/Logs/Microsoft/autoupdate.log on macOS.

Paths are printed exactly as Microsoft AutoUpdate writes them. Environment variables like %LOCALAPPDATA% and $XDG_STATE_HOME are never expanded, so a path can be pasted straight into a shell. How to collect Microsoft AutoUpdate logs

  1. Open Terminal and run cd /Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft\ AutoUpdate.app/Contents/MacOS.
  2. Run ./msupdate --config and save the output.
  3. Run ./msupdate --list and save the output. Both need MAU 3.18 or later.
